In the fall of 2018, AMS introduced a new elective, Journalism.  In the past, the school yearbook has been constructed by a teacher, but she had bigger dreams of making a better book of memories, created by students. It was also decided that the middle-schoolers would create an online newspaper. To make it a reality, assistant vice principal, Mrs. Netopski, as well as Mrs. Vargas and Lara, submitted a grant application to the Andrews Education Foundation, and were awarded the funds to get the ball rolling. With the extra money, professional cameras, more space in the yearbook, and an online site were purchased.
