I am the Reading STAAR test.

I cover many things concerning vocabulary, poems, and short stories.

To prepare for my test, you should come with a positive attitude and a clear mind.

My test isn’t very hard, just be sure to read my stories and questions carefully.

I try to provide you with interesting stories for you to enjoy because sitting for four hours can be a bit boring.

Some of the stories can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, expository, and dramas.

Some questions on my test are about figurative language, inferencing, the plot of a story, and summarizing stories.

You shouldn’t be nervous to take my test, just pretend that it’s an everyday assignment in your reading class.

The number of questions on my test can range from 30 to 40 questions.

It may sound like a lot but be sure to take your time and not skim over my test.

I am not a hard test, I can be challenging, but I’m not as hard as other tests.

I was made to help teachers know your progression in reading, so they know if you learned anything this year.

Don’t stress yourself out about my test, you’ve got this!
