National Junior Honor Society

Melanie Barrios and Lizeth Porras

On October 1st, there was a ceremony for the new 7th and 8th grade inductees to the NJHS group for the 2019-2020 school year. NJHS is a selective society that focuses on helping the community and schools and encourages appropriate character.

Students are excited about being chosen for this honor. Emilano Abarca said,”I thought it was going to be fun.” Many students also like to be in NJHS because they get to help out, just like Abarca; he likes to help the community. Abarca also stated  “You must have sufficient grades and leadership skills to be chosen and stay in NJHS.”

Alexandra Hughes said, “I feel good about NJHS. It’s really awesome to be in NJHS. I appreciate it because it’s an honor to be selected.” She also stated “We have to have sufficient grades, exceptional character, and keep a high GPA.” Hughes mentioned why she joined NJHS: “It will look exemplary on my report and I can earn college credits”.

Our thoughts on NJHS are that it is a comendible and wonderful experience to be chosen to join.
